Thanksgiving in New York
So be forewarned this will be a very long post! :)
Well, New York was so much more than what I expected, there were no crazy hobos trying to steal my money on the subway, no rude New Yorker, pleasant weather, and so so so much prettier and amazing in person.
So here is my adventures!
We were able to attend church in Manhattan!
The chapel is actually in the temple!
It's right in the middle, the baptismal font in under it, and the rest of the rooms are on top of the chapel.
It was so weird and cool taking an elevator to church!
Well, also in our trip we were able to try many many different resturants which were all very good, the best hot chocolate had to be this little face across from Bryant Park, called Lily O' Brian the chocolate was so yummy!
Of course no trip to New York would not be complete without seeing the Statue of Liberty! It was so cool to actualy see it in person, it's so much bigger in person, and it was just so cool to finally see it!
We wern't able to see Ellis Island because it was too late in the day, but the boot ride from the Statue of Liberty was fun because wer were able to see the New York skyline, which is pretty awesome
We also had a shopping day, which was amaing!
New York City is the BEST mall!
Every store we went to had at least three stories, I went to Gap, Forever 21, H and M, and of course Tiffany's!
On the topic of rude New Yorkers, well I didn't meet one everyone was so nice, I met a huge black guy singing to every song in Gap while he folded clothes, my dad was so confused since the guy had such a high voice, and he kpt asking the black guy, is that you singing? haha
Also, in Tiffany's I was a little scared to take a picture on the stairwell, since there were two mean looking security guards were there, but once we asked they smiled and stepped back so that we could take a couple of pictures!
The cool thing about going to New York during Thanksgiving is that all the Christmas decorations are already out, so you can enjoy the Christmas environment in New York without it being too cold!
We got to see the Rockfeller tree, but sadly it was covered up, but it is crazy huge!
We also went to Times Square which was so much fun, the nest way to describe it is, to picture Las Vegas, and just think 10 times cooler and you have Times Square.
There was so much to look at, whith the billboards that were coming to life, all the performers out side, and music blaring, the Forever 21 is there, and it was so much fun to shop there, thery put a taxi in the bottom floor and filled it with streamers and confetti!
Like I said the shopping in New York, is like a mall on steriods!

Before my Heart Stops
I just finished an AMAZING book called Before me Heart Stops by Paul Cardall. Well, it's not really a novel, its more if a diary of all his blog posts while he was waiting for a heaert transplant, and some chapters that are side notes.
But this book is amazing! I actually already new of Paul Cardall, before I read this book, because I already had boughten some of his music, he is an award winning pianist.
This story really has changed my outlook on what I should be doing fro my community, and it has totally inspired me to voluteer more and help those in need with these kind of illnesses.
Paul Cardall truly is an inspiration, and everyone needs to go out and buy it!
It sells at Deseret Book stores
Here is a video with a little bit of his story

Ironic
Well, for the past two months I have been reading Les Miseables in my World Lit class. For a nerd like me who loves to read, I was thinking I should probably like this book.WRONG. I just didn't like all the character changes and the fact that I had to memorize like 20 different characters. Well, now I'm working on a 6 page essay on this book, and I was expecting to hate it. WRONG!
My essay is about how Victor Hugo, the author, uses the character Jean Valjean to symbolize Jesus Christ.
(Jean Valjean)
I chose this topic because it became obvious to me that Jean Valjean was representing Christ at the end of the novel when he was dying willingly because it was God's will. Well while I have been working on my essay I have been studying the actions and words of Jean Valjean, I have come to realize how beautiful this story is, Victor Hugo artfully ties Valjean to Christ, with instances of paying money for a little girl to be able to have free time and play, to him helping a poor woman, who is down on her luck, get out of the business of prostitution. Similar to Jesus Christ forgiving the adultrous women of her sins.
I find it very ironic that by writting a dreaded and long essay (9 pages!)I have learned to love a book that I was hating.

Life with short hair
Well, I did it, I cut my hair people kept asking me if I was sure that I wanted to do it, and I would always answer yes!
Some people may think I'm crazy for cutting my long hair, but I like my new look!

Walk Farther. Feel Better
So since I'm going to New York for Thanksgiving, I thought that was a good excuse to start some winter shopping by buying some winter boots!
Problem was that it was more frustrating than fun, I went to Nordys, Macy, Nine West, and some other stores and all I could find were either shoes that were too over priced for the quality of the shoe or a good price but they made me look like a pirate!
So I finally came to Clarks, I wanted to go there but my dad said those look like old lady shoes, but we went in there anyway, and there are some old lady sheos, but also some really cute classic shoes as well!
So I tried some on, and I felt like I was walking on clouds, literally.
These boots both have a little heel, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, and thats saying something since I praise Toms shoes for the same thing, but Toms have been beat by Clarks in my book.
So needless to say I bought both pairs, so what? Even though I saw a bunch of women my moms age shopping there, I like them and I plan to shop there in the future!
When I checked online I was not suprised that their motto is Walk Farther. Feel better.
These shoes are amazing!
And to properly thank Clarks shoes company I am advertising them shamefully on my blog!
Here is their main online store
http://clarks.zappos.com/
and they also have a line called Indigo, the brand that both of my boots are from

The Android
Well, today is the first time in my Highschool career that I have slept in, I know this seems odd, but I am an ealy riser so this problem never happens to me! I blame my sleeping to my phone the anroid, this phone truly is the worst phone I have ever had! It drops calls, no one can hear me on it, and sometimes I dont get text messages. But today I found out that it lies, last night when I went to bed it said the battery is at 15 % and I thought that is enough for that night, and I know that if it dies, the box for the phone said that it would turn on to give my alarm. Well this moring at exactly 6:54 I realized that this is a lie. So my advice don't buy this phone stay and stay away from it!
On a side note, I have officailly started applying to BYU and BYU-I which is exciting and scary all at the same time!

Halloween Decorations
Since my dream major in College is Interior Design, I asked my parents if I could practice my talents by decorating for Halloween!
Here is my final product!
I saw this cool idea about spray painting you'r pumpkins silver, we just added some gold accents and voila!
Here is what I call the gothic corner
In these pictures are Theda Bara and Alfred Hitchcock, two Hollywood stars that evoke Halloween
I had to add Edgar and his Raven, for the two silhouettes I pasted them on some old scripted paper, that I printed from the internet
I had a hard time trying to think of a woman gothic writer, the only person I could come up with is Emily Bronte who wrote Wuthering Heights
There is a woman who has a great interior design business she had something like this in her house, So I tweaked it a little and came up with this!
Here is just wall stickers that I found at Target, the nice thing is they come off easily with no damage to the walls yes!
This was fuller but we have been snacking on these!
Martha Stewart Design has these great paper crows, that I got from Michaels, I just taped it on the plate
Saw some great masks at Pier One that cost about $20 dollars here is my take on one of their masks

A blogging newbie
So yes, I have started a blog! I didn't expect to be super excited to start one but I am!
It took me forever to figure out a creative title for my new bog and I came up with a touch of humor, don't ask me what it means, because frankly I have no idea myself, the idea came to me after I took another dose of medicine that prompltly put me to sleep. One of those moments of genius, that only come when your not mentally all the way there. Now as for why I started blogging I have to give the credit to my friend Marissa and President Uchtdorf. The other day, I was reading her blog and I thought it looked like alot of fun, but it also made me think of President Uchtdorf's General Conference talk on slowing down and focussing on and enjoying the fundamentals, I think a blog can help me slow down and help me reflect on the blessings in my life.
As for my plans for today, I plan to celebrate the first day in a while that I actually feel healthy! YAY!
And the way I will be celebrating is to continue decorating the house for Halloween! I'll post back soon when I'm done with some pictures!
