Man I miss this show

Just saw this video, it made me miss this show  so much! I don't know if it was the song, or just seeing all the characters, but it has made me want to get my dvds and rewatch the show!

I need glasses

So I got my physical for College yesterday, and when I did the eye test, and I covered my right eye, it was all blurry! That has never happened to me!

So today I went to the doctor, and my right eye is 20/20 but my left eye is 20/50 and for DMV standards I need glasses when I drive!

So I got some glasses, I have to wait a couple weeks to get them, and I wont have to wear them that much, only in class and when I drive, which isn't too bad I guess.

It was really weird when I was trying on glasses, I have never seen myself with them on! But I found some cute ones from Cole Haan, and the best part is that insurance covers them so they are really cheap!

These are them!

Also, going to the eye doctors, is hilarious, first they have you look at the computer game and use a clicker thing, and then when the doctor was moving around a red dot thing in my face, and he was being totally serious, I couldn't stop laughing, for some reason I thought it was really funny, but the eye doctor didn't find it that funny....... haha

How can you not root for them man? They got a blind guy and a guy with a broken leg!

So I promise this is my last post of the day, but man! These guys are so inspirational! Expedition Impossible is such a great show! It takes place in Morocco, and its similar to the show Amazing Race, where they have challenges, but this show is like 2o times harder, they rock climb, white water raft, and rapel!

So anyway one of my favorite teams on teh show is called No Limits, there are threee guys on the team, two og them have climbed Mt.Everest, and one of those two guys did it blind, and the ther guy Ike, is in the military and has recieved a purple heart.  On the show Ike reinjures his ankle he broke while in the Iraq war.

These guys are heros and definetley people I look up to!

NEVER GIVE UP!

This video is a short clip of them barley making it to the finishing line!

Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss

Love my parents!

Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you

My doggies! These are not pictures of them since I dont have any pictures on my computer and I am too lazy to upload them, but these look close enough!

This one looks like my maltese Sawyer! He is a pain at times and he hates boys (literally he will bite their pants off he sees any) but I love him!  We named him after the character on lost named.... duh Sawyer!

And my other dog which is a poodle named Tinkerbell!

She is so sweet and cute, and I remember how excited I was to get her 7 years ago!
and because I posted a picture of the Sawyer from Lost I'll put up a picture of Tinkerbell

Day 25 - A picture of your day

Well, today I did a whole lot of nothing, but here are some things that show my day

Slept in

Read and finished Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald, I need some more time to process the book,    like all Fitzgerald's books this one doesn't have the happiest of endings, but for me this is sadder than Great Gatsby, and This Side of Paradise, probably because this book was greatly based on his own life and his relationship with his wife.  But I overall like it, I like how he shows the decay of someone subtly overtime like morality, sanity, and reputation.  I would suggest it to anyone who liked Great Gatsby!

oh and some good Jacuzzi time :)

Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change

I wish we could get rid of incumbents, so we could get work to be done in Congress!

Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book

Do you know how hard this is for me? I mean I have read so many books and i have loved so many of them! On my GoodReads account I have listed over 200 books that I have read, and thats not even all that I have read!

So i'm just going to post a lot and talk a little about each
My favorite book I read in school
I love the Great Gatsby and I love F.Scott Fitzgeralds talent of telling a story but also sneaking in alot of symbolism that makes the story so beautiful. I love Fitzgerald I'm reading another one of his books called Tender is the Night and its really good so far!

My all time favorite series, these are the books that made me fall in love with reading, and I owe Meg Cabot everything for that!

There is no way that when talking about my favorite books that I dont mention Harry Potter, I am so glad that my first grade teacher read the book to us and that my mom read the 2nd and third ones to me before I went to bed. Everyone says that Harry Potter was their childhood, and I am one of those people. J.K. Rowling is just an amazing writer, and I can't even fathom coming up with a whole concept of a whole new magical world. She has so much creativity it's not even funny!

O.K. this will be the last book I talk about but Jane freaking Eyre took my breath away when I read it, I laughed, cried, and shrieked for joy at some parts.  It surpasses the story of Pride and Prejudice for me and Mr. Rochester is way hotter than Mr.Darcy.  This story is good! It was scandalous when it first came out because, giving that much power to a woman, and having a man view a woman as his equal wan unheard of for back in the day, so kudos Charlotte Bronte, for telling a beautiful story, of one womans strength to defend herself.

Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at

I'm good at watching this but

I love sports so much and I just wish I was better at playing them! Since I am one of the most uncoordinated people alive, hence me spraining my ankle trying to kick someone in the butt.

Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget

I wish I could forget and stop worrying about being all by myself at college with no family suport! And just be excited for BYU-I!

Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel

So I already talked about the place that is number 1 on places I want to travel but another place I really want to go to is Switzerland!

I started to want to go there recently because of the show Amazing Race. They traveled there during the winter and it was literally a winter wonderland.  But its pretty in the summer as well! I think that the architecture there is so beautiful and I love the mountains, oh and there cheese and chocolate! Yum :)

Day 19 - A picture and a letter

Dear Alyssa,
I am so glad that I will be seeing you in five days! I have missed you so much, and I'm jealous of you and your new huge house! But when you get here we wil go to the beach every day, eat mexican food, and watch Vampire Diaries!  Oh and I should probably stock up on Oreos just for you :)  But thank you so much for being there for me especially recently with the craziness going on in my life! You are the best! Say hi to Lauren for me and tell her that I cant find the recording of her anymore!

Love Lydia

Day 18-A picture of your biggest insecurity

How easily I blush!

It is one of the most annoying things ever, sometimes I dont even blush for myself, but for other people! It makes it ten times worse when people say that I'm blushing because then it makes me blush even more!

This is why I wish I was black, because then when I'm embarassed no one would know!

Day 17-A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently

Like I said in my previous post I am reading this great book. I started to read it because in Sunday school our teacher was asking the class questions about the Atonement, and they were simple questions, that I could not answer, and it really botherd me because I thought I had such a strong testimony and good understanding of the atonement, so I sought out to study the Atonement, and i am so glad that I did, because this book has heleped me gain a better understanding of the Atonement, and I'm only on page 34!

"The pursuit of this octrine requires the total person, for the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most supernal, mind-exanding, passionate doctrine this world or universe will ever know"-Tad R. Callister

Day 16-A picture of someone who inspires you

The savior!  Currently I'm reading The Infinite Atonement, to try to better understand the complicated Atonement becacuse it encompases everything!!!!!But he inspires me, and every day I try to more like him and follow his example!

Day 15- A picture of something you want to do before you die

I have always wanted to go to Italy! I really hope I get to go here sometime in my lifetime!

My interest in going to Italy all started in 7th grade when I learned about Pompeii, you know the place where the volcano blew up and it happened so fast that there impressions of the people who were there still around? I know it;s not the normal reason of why I initially wanted to go to Italy, but I remember how facinating it was to read about t hem, and to beable to see the ruins that old and to see how people looked back then!

Another weird reason of why I want to go to Italy is because of one of my all time favorite movies Roman Holiday one of the best scenes is when Gregory Peck takes Audrey Hepburn to this old satue and its called Bocca della Vertia which means mouth of truth, and people say to test someones honesty stick their hand in the mouth and ask them a question and if you lie it wil bite off you fingers!  Well after doing some research I found out that this statue was made in the 1st century! Which is just so cool!

Back to blogging/ Day 14

So because I have been gone so long I think I'm just going to cheat on the 30 day challenege and do 5 of the days today, or I will never finish this thing!

A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

Marissa aka Charlie! (and a whole bunch of other nicknames that I can't remember!)

So I have no idea how I would be without Marissa in my life, because she has influenced me so much!
I remember when I was an akward brand new beehive, and I saw Marissa, Brynn, Aubrey, and Maddie, and thought wow they are so cool, I want to be friends with them... and bam I became their friends! All because Marissa brought me in. It ment so much to me because I was the oldest in my age group and I really didn't know any of the older kids.  But instantly Marissa and I were thick as theives and we realized that we were basically the same person! We had the same likes uhhh such as tall dark and handsomes! and Fall Out Boy!  She really was my first really close friend that I knew I could rely on, and I still can and do!

But the most important thing that our friendship has given me is her great example.  Since she is two years older than me, I was able to learn from her about being a sophmore when I was in 8th grade etc. etc.  But what I am really trying to get at is that her testimony really influenced me and helped me make good decisons. You always hear it choose your friends wisely, for they will dictate your actions and that is so true! I remember one of my first sleepovers at the Langs I must have been 13 or 14 and before we went to bed Marissa is starting to read her scriptures to me and Caitlin. I remember I was like what? people our age actually do this, like every night? Also I remember youth conference when I was 15 and Marissa bore her testimony about Jesus Christ, and I rememebr thinking, I have never heard such a powerful testimony of Christ! I mean I know I had heard many testimonies of christ, and how we should have a strong relationship with him, but I guess it never hit me that I should be striving for a relationship with Christ. It felt like such a foreign concept to me, I remember thinking how could I have a relationship with someone who isn't on this earth?
Well after seeking out my own testimonya nd relationship with the savior, I learned pretty quickly how!
Sorry that this became more of a testimony then talking about Marissa but I pretty sure that it would have taken me a longer time to try to search for my own testimony with out Marissa example!
I love you Marissa! :) and you are probably the only one to read this since it's so long haha
